How to set up WinCVS with ssh

Install Win CVS

Download the recommended version 1.3.17.2 from http://www.wincvs.org.

Install the program.

Setup

These instructions are specific to Magicmonster's working cvs environment.

Go to Admin > Preferences and enter CVSROOT as user@host:/dir/to/cvs. Set the authentication to > ssh server.

Go to the Ports tab, click the checkbox called 'Check for an alternate rsh name:' and put the path to the Cygwin ssh there

Troubleshooting

TCL or Python are not available, shell is disabled

You can ignore this message, basic functionality should still be available.
