etc/hosts file on windows

Windows XP HOST file.

Windows includes the equivalent of the /etc/hosts file that is found on unix systems.

It is found in

Terminal window
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

It is useful for bypassing the DNS server and hardcoding the machine’s lookups.
